On the road

We spent most of the summer in the Balkans. The food was delicious and the nature was wild, and ironically we dodged the heatwave that baked the rest of Europe. Got (officially) married in August, in a nice little ceremony on the beach, and spent some good time with family on both sides. We’re currently in Greece.

Work

Plenty going on. I parted ways with a company I’d been working closely with for most of this year. They hit a wall, which is sad but happens at early stage, and it’s made room for some new projects.

I’ve been spending most of my time lately designing evaluation frameworks for AI systems, and advising a couple of early-stage teams on research and product.

Projects

We killed re-mind. It would have struggled to stand out in a crowded space while solving too narrow a problem. Sometimes knowing what to build means knowing what not to build, and we’d rather put the energy somewhere else.

I’ve also been thinking a lot about how humans and agents collaborate on writing code. Humans have become a painful bottleneck, as agents produce far more plans, code and findings than a person can or wants to absorb, and nothing separates what genuinely needs the human from what doesn’t. Experimenting with ways to structure the work so the human only deals with what actually needs them.
